September 13 - Sony Sales

Sony's worldwide sales have decreased says Sony Computer Entertainment President Ken Kutaragi. Reuters quoted him reportedly saying 'If you asked me if Son'y strength in hardware was in decline right now, I guess I'd have to say that it's true.' This comes after reports of PS3 delays in Europe and Australia, exploding batteries, delayed Blu-Ray launch and a whole host of other problems that Sony have faced over the past month. With this news, Sony saw it's stocks fall by almost 2% and a wave of critisicism from the blogosphere. As the current next-gen format winner, Toshiba are taking everything in their stride, embracing the press well and not losing it. Sony on the other hand are not making announcement when needed, giving bad ones when they do, and not pleasing the public. Sony has catch-up to do, and if they don't do it quick, they could find themselves in trouble.
