September 18 - Sleek Sony

Sony has just released it's latest line of laptops, this time looking rather formidable rather than little weedy things that might catch fire at any moment. The Sony AR20 (the top-of-the-range model), the FE30 (mid-range) and the Vaio N10 (entry-level) laptops all have some nice features built-in to their well-made chassis. TechDigest says that 'If you've plans to shoot HD footage on your camcorder, you can edit and play it back on the AR20 - then burn it onto a Blu-ray disc. And of course, you can watch it on the 17-inch 1920 x 1200 resolution X-black LCD screen featuring full 1080p resolution. Other features include an integrated hybrid digital and analogue tuner and HDMI output (which should save you buying a standalone Blu-ray player), with the machine running on an Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 processor with 2GB of high speed DDR2 memory.' Sounds pretty impressive. I'm looking forward to seeing these laptops in action and then comparing them against my current Sony laptop. I'm guessing they'll wipe the floor with mine in the benchmarks. That said, I've got a pretty decent laptop.
