September 22 - 160 Megapixels

If you fancy yourself as a keen photographer and would be willing to sacrifice $36,266 of your well earned cash for a camera, say hello to your dream partner (as promised from last post)! The Swiss made Seitz camera will hopefully be able to be spotted at Germany's upcoming Photokina expo. Let's wait and see. Don't expect to be buying it until early 2007. Or of course, you could pre-order. The camera creates a native 6x17 image and has an ISO range from 500 to 10,000 a shutter speed of 1/20,000th of a second (Wow! Could a Ferrari do this?) and a read-out speed of 300 megabytes a second. To store a camera full of images this big, I doubt that even your 64GB CompactFlash card would suffice. Therefore Seits has created a 'state-of-the-art-computer system'. So we're guessing that this isn't just any old Mac Mini sitting in some sad developers garage. If you can't afford the $36k+ plus camera, then why not by the non-movable Studio version? That's only $33,715, so you obviously won't be breaking the bank there. We hope to get some photos taken by this camera. Just make sure you're viewing from Goonhilly's 1Gbps connection else you'll be waiting half an hour.
